Baby's first Easter pictures on a budget

Of course any baby's first occasion is probably the most important. How did it go for us and how we managed our family pictures? Continue reading and get inspired.

Welcome to my very first blog post! I wanted to share our first experience with our baby, and how we managed to do our first family photoshoot by ourselves right in our backyard.

Some family fun

It was a beautiful Sunday (04/17/2022 ) out here in Northern California after having some gloomy weather the day before to do our first family photoshoot. Of course we all want to capture precious moments especially when it comes to our children. But nowadays to catch pictures of our cherished memories can really cost a fortune. Now if you're like me, who loves to take pictures and play around with the camera you can really take something so simple and make it look completely PROFESSIONAL!

What did I use to take these pictures?

First off SELF-TIMER, yes I said it.. we took these using self-timer. What did I use to hold my camera? A tripod ( something that was no more than $30 off of amazon ), next I used my Canon camera that my boyfriend bought me as a gift and lastly I use lightroom presets to edit my photos...psssst, that's my favorite part of this process LOL. Sometimes if I don't feel like using my Canon I just use my iPhone for pictures which is 95% of the time and the pictures come out just fine as well.

Where did I get our outfits?

“Be original, show off your style.”

My lovely floral dress I got from amazon that again I did not spend more than $40 along with my hat, the heels were from #target that I got about a year ago. Baby's cute outfit I got from #Carters that was 20% off... a little funny story:

My son's shoes were from carters as well and for some reason I couldn't let them go! But unfortunately they only had the ones for display and it was 6months I needed 3months in order for it to fit. So the worker offered to order it only and I wouldn't be charged for shipping so I asked if I could go on walking around the store to think about it. Well, I went to check out the sales rack just to see what they had to offer and what did I find?... EXACTLY! Those shoes! They were literally ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK OF EVERYTHING HIDING.... so your girl paid $4 for those shoes instead of $20! Talk about having a PROUD moment LOL. I love to somewhat brag about it, but for someone like me who doesn't do much shopping... it totally feels like an accomplishment :) I love telling this story haha.

So yes my son's outfit is from carters from head-to-toe. For my boyfriend, I got it from Old Navy.. It was $15 for the shorts and $20 for the collar shirt. SCORE FOR OUR OUTFITS! Yes, I am still learning how to do some #budgetshopping and I really want to learn how to thrift shop because it just sounds so fun. Tbh, before I thought thrift shopping was the last resort shopping you do if you really don't have money, but in reality you shop for some hidden gems! And of course that just sounds so satisfying.

The Easter decor, well it's actually from our living room decorations LOL. And we scored those from the dollar store!

You don't need to break the budget to have a nice family photoshoot. You just need the right lighting, a camera (even if it's your phone) an editing app (lightroom doesn't charge monthly) and some cute outfits. Next mission, starting my THRIFT SHOPPING JOURNEY!
